€72,000 for Tipperary Regional Youth Service welcomed by Lowry

Independent Deputy Michael Lowry has welcomed €72,000 worth of funding for the Tipperary Regional Youth Service based in Croke Street in Thurles.

The Three Drives Family Resource Centre Limited in Tipperary town is also to receive a funding grant of €15,000.

The Scheme is administered by the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and funding comes from the Dormant Accounts Fund.

RAPID Leverage funding and is Part of an allocation of over €2.3 million nationwide to supporting approximately 200 projects.

Nenagh CAT Scanner to Come Online as per Lowry Agreement

As announced by Independent Deputy Michael Lowry in the aftermath of the recent emergency budget, the Holycross man received a commitment from the Minister for Health and the Taoiseach that the long running saga in relation to the CT scanner in Nenagh would be dealt with immediately.

“At my request an exemption will be made from the public service recruitment embargo to allow for the filling of a post of clinical specialist radiographer. After negotiations between the Department of Health, Mid West officials and Hospital management I had been assured the CT scanner will definitely be operational in short term. (more…)
